Description
Class II, Distorted Hub DoublingA spread toward the center shows on PLURIBUS UNUM, STATES OF AMERICA, CENTS, LLO of MONTICELLO and the right side of the building with all spreads increasing from left to right. The lower serifs of UNUM show tripling.
Die Markers
- Obverse: Stage A: Numerous die scratches from rim between IN and coat; numerous die scratches on coat lapel; numerous diagonal die scratches on lower right of coat.Stage B: Die scratches between IN and coat are gone; die scratches on coat are very weak or missing.
- Reverse: Stage A: Die gouge (dot) inside lower portion of second U of PLURIBUS; die gouge (dot) to left of upper portion of first U of UNUM; die gouge (dot) to right of lower portion of T of UNITED.Stage B: All reverse Stage A markers are still visible; two die gouges to right of M of UNUM; short die gouge inside lower curve of first S of STATES.
