Description

A spread towards the south shows on the ERTY of LIBERTY and the 9 in the date. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: A die scratch runs SW from the bottom of the 9. A die scratch runs NNE from the top of the one. A die scratch runs south from between the E and R of LIBERTY curving SSW towards the bottom of the die scratch. Obverse Stage B: A die chip can be found in the upper 9. A long die scratch runs SSW from the back of the head to the left of the ear passing between the T and Y in LIBERTY and running all the way to the rim at about 8:00. A long die scratch runs N/S through the left side of the B in LIBERTY. A long die scratch runs SW from the bottom right of the N of IN. Obverse Stage C: The Stage A & B die scratches have been abraded away or are very weak except for the long die scratch from the back of the head. A small die gouge can be found above the 5 in the date. Obverse Stage D: A long die scratch runs SW from the bottom right of the N of IN passing between the B and E in LIBERTY and extending out to the rim. A long die scratch runs NNE from the top of he I in LIBERTY to the I of IN. Reverse Stage A: Two die scratches run SE from the top right of the E in ONE running through the top right of the T in CENT to the tops of the E and S in STATES. A die scratch runs SE from the bottom of the first U in UNUM to the top right of the E in ONE. Reverse Stage B: The Stage A die markers are present but much weaker. Remnants of a die clash run from the bottom left of the E in ONE to the top right of the N in CENT. Numerous die scratches run NW/SE throughout the reverse. Reverse Stage C: The reverse die has been heavily abraded. Numerous die scratches run SW/NE throughout the reverse. Reverse Stage D: Same as Stage C. Obverse Stage A:
