Cataloged by VarietyVista with UVC-1923 and DMR-030, the 1957-D Lincoln Wheat Cent DDO-008 shows very light spread confined to LIBERTY. This regular strike Denver-mint variety is documented across three die states. Stage A represents early die state, while Stage B at mid-die state develops abrasion doubling under Lincoln's chin accompanied by numerous horizontal die scratches on the reverse. Stage C captures the late die state. The appearance of abrasion doubling at Stage B is a secondary mechanical effect distinct from the original hub doubling on LIBERTY, meaning collectors may observe two different types of doubling on the same coin at certain die states. The very light nature of the LIBERTY spread places this among the more subtle DDOs in the late Wheat Cent series, requiring careful examination under magnification.
