The secondary image on the reverse legend is offset from the primary lettering at a medium level — visible under standard magnification without being dramatically separated. Stage A shows both reverse and obverse in early die state (EDS), confirming that specimens exist from early in the die's production life when the surfaces were fresh. Stages B (MDS) and C (LDS) remain unconfirmed. The 1956 Philadelphia Mint Roosevelt Dime saw production of approximately 109 million pieces, one of the higher mintages in the silver dime era and a figure that reflects the robust post-war American economy. Seven documented doubled die reverses for a single date indicates active research into this year's output, where the large surviving population provides collectors with ample material to examine.
