Nearly horizontal die scratches can be found north of the one in the date. Numerous heavy die cracks run throughout the hair. Reverse: The reverse is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1956 1¢ WDDR-003. Extra thickness shows on the letters of EPU, both of the dots, both of the upper wheat ears, and both of the wheat stems. A small die gouge touches the bottom center of the diagonal bar of the N in ONE. A small die gouge touches the upper center of the diagonal bar of the N in CENT. Numerous die scratches run from NNW to SSE through the letters in CENT. A large die chip can be found on the lower T in CENT. Obverse:
