The 1955 Wheat cent is composed of 95% copper and 5% tin and zinc, weighing 3.11 grams with a 19 mm diameter. While the famous 1955 DDO-001 is one of the most iconic error coins in American numismatics, DDO-003 presents a distinctly different and far more subtle doubling pattern. The primary diagnostics show light extra thickness on LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the date, lacking the dramatic separation visible on the celebrated DDO-001.
