1955 Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-004

Description

A close CCW spread shows on the letters of IGWT and slightly on the LIB of LIBERTY. Die Markers: Obverse: A short, horizontal die gouge can be found north of the BE in LIBERTY. Reverse: The reverse is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1955 1¢ WDDR-007. Strong extra thickness shows on EPU, the dots, and both wheat ears and stems. A die scratch runs SSW from the lower left of the N in UNITED. Obverse:
