1955 Franklin Half Dollar - Typical Die Clash TDC-50C-1955-01

Description

TDC-50c-1955-01 is a typical die clash on a 1955 Franklin half dollar, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes, and the clash known as the "Bugs Bunny" or sometimes the "Dracula" half. The mark by Franklin's mouth came from the recessed areas of the eagle's wing on the reverse die, and the B of PLURIBUS shows in the hair at the back of his head. On the reverse, a square mark under the eagle's right wing was made by the field before Franklin's upper lip and the base of his nose; the upper edge of his collar shows above the Liberty Bell, and the back of his head runs into the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. A long die scratch running to the O of GOD from the second-lowest hair curl identifies the die.
