Error
Description
Doubling shows as an extra eyelid to the south of the normal eyelid. Die Markers: Obverse: Light vertical die scratches run below Lincoln’s chin. A series of light vertical die scratches run through the letters of LIBERTY. A die gouge (dot) shows above the letter B in LIBERTY. “V” shaped incuse die scratches show below LIBERTY. A series of horizontal die scratches run through and to the right of WE. Light horizontal die scratches run through and right of Lincoln’s ear. Reverse: A long die scratch runs SSE into the central right wheat stalk from left of the letter U in UNUM. A light die scratch connects the letter M in UNUM to right wheat tip. A series of vertical die scratches show in the field below and behind the letter C in CENT. Light diagonal die scratches connect the letter U in UNITED to the O in OF. A diagonal die scratch shows in the lower left wheat stalk, left of the letter O in OF. Submitted By: James C. A series of diagonal die scratches run southwest from the B in LIBERTY. A die gouge shows to the right of the lower I in IN. A horizontal die gouge runs through and right of the N in IN. A series of mostly horizontal die scratches run through the upper TRU in TRUST. A horizontal die scratch runs west from the upper left edge of the U in TRUST. A die gouge shows on the upper left curve of the S in TRUST. A series of concentric die scratches run through and right of Lincoln’s ear. Reverse: A short die gouge shows on the upper right curve of the C in CENT. A light diagonal die scratch shows behind the upper C in CENT. A diagonal die scratch runs through the central crossbar of the E in CENT. A light diagonal die scratch shows in the field well right of the lower T in CENT. A diagonal die scratch runs southeast from the lower first A in AMERICA.
