Description
1955-D WDDO-010 is a doubled die obverse on the 1955-D Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The eyelid is doubled to the south of the normal one. Obverse markers: a clash at the throat; light diagonal scratches above LIBERTY's RTY; a long horizontal scratch through IN and to its left; a series of faded diagonal scratches under GOD; gouges among the TRU of TRUST; and a series of horizontal cracks on the lower bust above VDB. Reverse markers: diagonal scratches above the left wheat tip; diagonal scratches between the BUS of PLURIBUS; a vertical scratch between the right wheat tip and UNUM's M; a clash line running from ONE's E to CENT's N; a diagonal scratch behind CENT's C; and diagonal scratches running from UNITED's U through the O of OF. Brian Ribar submitted the variety. Coppercoins lists it as 1955D-1DO-012.
