Description

Doubling shows as an extra eyelid closely to the south of the normal eyelid. Die Markers: Obverse: Strong diagonal and horizontal die scratches run through the date. A group of hair-like, diagonal die scratches show below Lincoln’s chin. A wavering, mostly vertical die scratch shows behind Lincoln’s bust. A series of diagonal die scratches show above LIBERTY. Multidirectional die scratches show below IN. A light die scratch connects the front of Lincoln’s hair curl to the U in TRUST. Reverse: Strong, mostly diagonal die scratches run through the letters IBUS in PLURIBUS. Numerous, mostly horizontal die scratches run through and right of the letters in ONE. Numerous horizontal die scratches run through the letters C and E in CENT. A series of diagonal die scratches overlay horizontal die scratches to the right of the T in CENT. Numerous, mostly horizontal die scratches run through the letters in UNITED. A diagonal die scratch shows below the N in UNITED. A series of diagonal die scratches show below OF.
