Description

Extra eyelids can be found to the north and south of the normal eyelid. Die Markers: Obverse: A small die gouge (dot) shows to the left of the lower mint mark. A die gouge (dot) shows well south of the letter B in LIBERTY. The master hub die scratches can be found below T in LIBERTY and behind Lincoln’s head. A short diagonal die scratch shows to the right of the letter E in WE. A light, vertical die scratch shows in Lincoln’s hair below and between the E in WE and the first T in TRUST. A long, mostly horizontal, wavering die scratch runs through lower S and below the last T in TRUST. A short horizontal die scratch shows below the S in TRUST. Reverse: A vertical die scratch runs north from the right edge of the left wheat tip. Vertical die scratches run south below the letter O in ONE. Nearly vertical die scratches show between the lower E in ONE and the T in CENT. A die gouge (dot) shows to the right of T in CENT. Vertical die scratches connect the N in UNITED with the lower C in CENT. A light vertical die scratch shows below the F in OF.
