Description
1954 WDDR-001 is a doubled die reverse on the 1954 proof Washington quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. A close Class II spread toward the center appears on the branch ends, the lower leaves, QUARTER DOLLAR and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and slightly on E PLURIBUS UNUM. Wexler notes no obverse markers. On the reverse, a wavy gouge lies inside the eagle's left wing, at its center; the A in STATES has a die dent on its lower left side; and heavy scratches lie in the gap between the lower parts of the O and F in OF. Dale Ericson submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
