Description

ADC-1c-1953D-01 is an atypical die clash on a 1953-D Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes. The clash marks are moderate to heavy and unabraded on both sides. On the obverse, UNITED's N sticks out from the back of Lincoln's head, and CENT's C runs through the TY of LIBERTY. The A of STATES and the final A of AMERICA also show, and CENT's N and ONE's E appear by the throat and near the date's first digit. On the reverse, Lincoln's head, neck and collar pass through CENT's C and on into UNITED's I. His throat and vest cut across ONE's E and CENT's N, and his nose and forehead run through the A in STATES and AMERICA's C.
