Description
A Type B (proof style) reverse was hubbed over a Type A (circulation style) reverse. The doubling shows on the leaves above QU in QUARTER, the lower UN in UNITED, the center arrowhead, the eagle’s talons, the lower left branch, and inside many of the letters in USA and QUARTER DOLLAR. Die Markers: Obverse: Thick letter obverse. A die gouge can be found south of the I of IN. Reverse: A large curving die scratch can be found between the eagle’s legs extending onto the eagle’s right leg. A die gouge can be found at the top of the eagle’s right wing SSW of the eagle’s beak. Die scratches can be found on the upper D of UNITED.
