Description
A Type B (proof style) reverse was hubbed over a Type A (circulation style) reverse. The doubling shows on the leaves above QU in QUARTER, the lower UN in UNITED, the center arrowhead, the eagle’s talons, the lower left branch, and inside many of the letters in USA and QUARTER DOLLAR. Die Markers: Obverse: Thin letter obverse. Reverse: Two die scratches can be found inside the first A in AMERICA. A die scratch can be found between the lower O and F in OF. A die scratch runs from the lower B to the second U in PLURIBUS. A circular pattern of die scratches can be found throughout the branches and leaves.
