Description
1950 WDDR-001 is a doubled die reverse on the 1950 Washington quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. A strong spread to the east appears on the eagle's beak, the arrowheads and shafts, the inner feathers of the right wing, the talons of the right foot, and the left half of the wreath. On the obverse, an E/W crack crosses the upper hair. On the reverse, a scratch descends the eagle's right wing, ending at the top leaf just left of the arrowheads. Lou Coles submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as 1-R-IV, and its Cherrypickers number is FS-25-1950-801 (019). Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
