Description

A strong spread shows on the letters of LIBERTY and also the letters of IN. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Trumpet Tail S mint mark. Several die scratches run north from the Y of LIBERTY. A die scratch extends north from the R of LIBERTY. A die scratch runs NNW from the center of Lincoln’s nose. Obverse Stage B: Die heavily abraded. Only the die scratches from the Y of LIBERTY remain. Reverse Stage A: A die scratch runs south from the top right side of the left wheat ear. A die scratch runs south from the lower right C in CENT. A vertical die scratch runs between the S and T of STATES. Reverse Stage B: Die heavily abraded. Only the die scratch from the upper left wheat remains. Obverse Stage A:
