Description
1946 WDDO-034 is a doubled die obverse on the 1946 Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. IGWT shows a CCW spread pivoting at about 6:00. Obverse markers: a vertical clash mark at the front of the throat, and a vertical scratch right of the lower chin. The reverse shows doubling from a doubled working hub, cataloged as 1946 1¢ WWHR-001: the left wheat stem and the left wheat ear's lower half show a spread toward the center. Reverse markers: a WSW/ENE scratch south of AMERICA's RIC; a scratch heading ENE from the right side of CENT's T; and numerous other scratches across the reverse, mostly WSW/ENE. Bill Wilson submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as 10-O-V-CCW. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
