Description
The 1946-D Doubled Die Obverse DDO-003 is a doubled die obverse (DDO) variety, where a misalignment during the die hubbing process created visible doubling on the obverse design elements. This variety was discovered on the 1946 (D) Lincoln Wheat Cent, part of the Lincoln Wheat Cents 1909-1958 series. Die markers: UVC-1728 DMR-024 Stage A: EDS (unconfirmed) Stage B: Two curved die scratches Southeast from ER of LIBERTY to lower bust – MDS Reverse is LISTED as DDR-003 – MDS Light die scratches East-West through UNITED STATES OF AMERICA Stage C: LDS (unconfirmed).
