The 1945 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-003 is a doubled die reverse (DDR) variety, where die hubbing misalignment produced visible doubling on the reverse design. This variety was discovered on the 1945 (P) Jefferson Nickel - Wartime Silver Alloy, part of the Jefferson Nickels Original Design 1938-2003 series. Die markers: Obverse: None noted. Reverse: Die scratch curving northwest from upper right of T of CENTS and die scratch WNW from top of S of CENTS intersect forming an X; die gouge (dot) SE of T of CENTS; die scratch east from bottom right base of steps passing over both Ls of MONTICELLO.
