Description
1943-S WDDO-009 is a doubled die obverse on the 1943-S Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. An extra eyelid lies under the front of the normal eyelid. The obverse also carries a repunched mint mark, an S/S West that the Wexler RPM Files carry as 1943-S 1¢ WRPM-004. Obverse markers: a long SE scratch from the R of LIBERTY, starting at its bottom left; a long SSE scratch from the base of LIBERTY's T; and numerous other scratches across the obverse. Reverse markers: a scratch heading NE across the E of ONE, from its center crossbar through its top, with other scratches elsewhere on the reverse. Lloyd Hanson submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
