1943 (S) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-006

Description

1943-S WDDO-006 is a doubled die obverse on the 1943-S Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. A close Class II spread toward the center shows on the 43 of the date. Obverse markers: a small gouge between the 9 and the 4, level with their centers; a scratch rising north off the top of the R in LIBERTY; and a scratch rising north off the top of the beard. Reverse markers: a gouge running NE from the I of AMERICA, starting at the center of its right side, through the upper C; a short scratch running SW from the lower left of the E in EPU; and numerous north-south scratches across the reverse. David Mulberry submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
