Description
1943-S WDDO-015 is a doubled die obverse on the 1943-S Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Doubling shows as several extra eyelids below the normal one and inside the loop of the 9. Obverse markers: two horizontal gouges just north of the 3; several die dots east of the D in GOD; and an arching east-to-west crack at the base of the bust with a die chip on it. Reverse markers: a crack heading SSW from the O of ONE, ending at the E of CENT; a scratch running southwest from the T of CENT; and a scratch heading southwest through the second T and the A of STATES. Daniel Griffin submitted the variety. Coppercoins lists it as 1943S-1DO-012.
