Description

1943-S WDDO-005 is a doubled die obverse on the 1943-S Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. A doubled eyelid lies below the normal eyelid. Obverse markers: a die chip on the crosslet of the 4, in its upper outer part; a gouge under the bust, beside the rim; and scratches heading NNE across the TY of LIBERTY. Reverse markers: die damage south and west of the O in ONE; two cracks running southeast from the rim to the upper left wheat; a crack heading NNE off the rim to the lower left wheat; and a crack running NNW from the rim to the lower right wheat. Brian Ribar submitted the variety. Coppercoins lists it as 1943S-1DO-005.
