I would like to see a higher grade example of this die for a definitive determination if this represents an RPM or a well-placed hit. Obverse: Light, vertical die scratches run below the date and onto the front of Lincoln’s jacket. Crisscrossing die scratches show right of the lower face. A myriad of vertical die scratches run through most of the letters of IN GOD WE TRUST. A die scratch runs along the right edge of the opening of Lincoln’s ear. Light, diagonal die scratches show to the right of the Y in LIBERTY. Reverse: A series of vertical die scratches run through the left dot in the motto. Vertical die scratch south from upper right edge of the N in UNUM. A series of strong vertical die scratches run alongside the right arm of N in ONE. A series of vertical die scratches run through the T in CENT. A vertical die scratch through the opening of the C in AMERICA. A die crack runs from rim into the left wheat stalk, left of the U in UNITED. A die crack shows on the central right wheat stalk, southeast of last S in STATES.
