Description

1942 WDDO-007 is a doubled die obverse on the 1942 Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. A Class V clockwise (CW) spread from a pivot near 1:00 shows on IN, LIBERTY, and the date. Obverse: a short SSE-to-NNW scratch above LIBERTY's L; a scratch running west from the upper left of IN's I; and a scratch heading ENE from the upper right of IN's N. Reverse: two scratches running roughly parallel to the rim beside the lower right wheat ear and stem, on their right, and short SW-to-NE scratches between STATES' T, E, and S. James C. Moreland submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as 5-O-II+V; the Coppercoins number is 1942P-1DO-013. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
