Description

1942 WDDO-001 is a doubled die obverse on the 1942 Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. A Class I clockwise (CW) spread appears on the date and on the letters of LIBERTY and IGWT (IN GOD WE TRUST). Obverse: a small gouge below and between LIBERTY's E and R; a small gouge above and between GOD's G and O; and a scratch parallel to the rim between TRUST's S and T. Reverse: a short scratch running east from the center bar of AMERICA's E. Brian Allen submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as 1-O-I; the Coppercoins number is 1942P-1DO-001. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
