Description

An extra eyelid appearing southwest of the main eyelid identifies WDDO-022, discovered on the 1942 Lincoln Wheat Cent during the early months of American involvement in World War II. Die markers on the obverse include a die scratch connecting the center of E and R in LIBERTY and die clash evidence present at the neck — the clash indicating this die also made direct contact with the opposing die during a planchet feed failure.
