Description
The 1941 Doubled Die Obverse DDO-012 is a doubled die obverse (DDO) variety, where a misalignment during the die hubbing process created visible doubling on the obverse design elements. This variety was discovered on the 1941 Washington Quarter, part of the Washington Silver Quarters 1932-1964 series. Die markers: UVC-0164 DMR-014 Stage A: Die scratch between upper ER of LIBERTY – EDS Reverse is EDS Stage B: Obverse and Reverse are MDS Stage C: Obverse is LDS Die crack from eagle's head East to wing – LDS Stage D: Die crack across hair extends into field in front and to Y of LIBERTY – VLDS Die crack down eagle's Right wing – VLDS.
