Description
Reverse: Die Markers: Obverse: The obverse of this variety is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Files as 1940-S 10¢ WDDO-003. A spread towards the center shows on the date. A die crack runs north from the top of the throat behind the chin extending to the rim just to the left of the E in LIBERTY. Die clash marks from the olive leaves can be found around the nose along with evidence of heavy die abrading. Reverse: A die gouge can be found at the rim above the O in OF. Die clash marks can be found at the leaves below the AME in AMERICA and above the ON of ONE. Obverse:
