The 1939 Doubled Die Reverse DDR-003 is a doubled die reverse (DDR) variety, where die hubbing misalignment produced visible doubling on the reverse design. This variety was discovered on the 1939 Jefferson Nickel - Reverse of 1940, part of the Jefferson Nickels Original Design 1938-2003 series. Die markers: UVC-616 DMR-012 Stage A: EDS (unconfirmed) Stage B: Die scratch West-Southwest from upper Left porch – MDS Obverse is MDS Stage C: LDS (unconfirmed). Reverse is RDV-002 (Straight Steps).
