Produced at the Philadelphia Mint, the 1939 Jefferson Nickel - Reverse of 1938 is part of the Jefferson Nickels Original Design 1938-2003 series. The U.S. Mint's 120.6 million is the 1939 Philadelphia nickel as a whole, both reverses included; the Reverse of 1938 share is unknown. The obverse features Thomas Jefferson facing left and the reverse displays Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's Virginia estate. The Philadelphia Mint, America's oldest coin-making facility, has struck coins continuously since 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $56 to $1.9K depending on grade and condition.
