Description

Strong extra thickness shows on EPU, both dots, and both wheat ears and stems. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: A die gouge can be found just below the left side of the B in LIBERTY. A die gouge can be found on the inside of the lower R in LIBERTY. A die crack loops over the designer’s initials. A die crack runs SE from the lapel into the vest. Obverse Stage B: The Stage A die gouges are weaker. The die crack from the lapel runs into the bust. The die crack over the designer’s initials now extends to the rim. A light die crack runs from west to east in the hair above the ear. Reverse Stage A: A die gouge (dot) can be found between the upper C and A in AMERICA. Reverse Stage B: A die crack runs NNW from the rim at 4:30 to the wheat grains and then turns and runs up the grains.
