Description

A very nice Class V CCW spread from a pivot at 4:00 shows on IGWT and LIBERTY. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: A die gouge (dot) shows on the vest to the right of the center fold. A very short die gouge juts from the underside of the top of the 3 in the date. OBverse Stage B: Very short die scratches extend north from the tops of the letters in LIBERTY. Obverse Stage C: A die crack runs from the center of the 3 in the date east to the top of the 0, looping around the top of the 0, and then extending east to the rim. Reverse Stage A: A long die scratch extends SSW through the upper left I and the lower right R of AMERICA well into the field ending to the left of the tip of the right wheat stem. A die scratch extends SSW from the N in UNUM. A die scratch runs SSW from the top right E of ONE. These two die scratches intersect to form a “V” just to the right of the center horizontal bar of the E of ONE. Reverse Stage B: A new reverse die was paired with this obverse. Light NNW to SSE die scratches can be found between the last S of PLURIBUS and the first U of UNUM. Reverse Stage C: A die crack extends from the right wheat ear to the rim at about 3:30.
