Description
DDO-001, which Wexler numbers WDDO-001, is a doubled die obverse on the 1919 Mercury dime with a very strong spread on IN, the dot, GOD, and TRUST. Both catalogs give it the CONECA number 1-O-IV+VIII. Wexler's Coins and Die Varieties describes a major westward spread across IN, GOD, TRUST and the upper dot. Its team detected no die markers on either the obverse or the reverse and suggests that a coin in higher grade might show some. Jeffrey Sam submitted the variety, and Wexler adds the Cherrypickers number FS-10-1919-101. VarietyVista records the very strong spread on the same letters and the dot, and tracks the die under its marker codes UVC-277 and DMR-002.
