Description
Robbins Co. of Attleboro signed several of the state fund medals for San Francisco's 1915 exposition, including those of Florida, Mississippi, North Carolina, Kentucky and Tennessee, and HK-413a is Tennessee's in silver-plated bronze. The design is about as plain as the group gets: the Tennessee seal in a circle with "For Tennessee Exposition Fund" around it and a single star at the bottom, backed by a ship under sail between the ribbons "The Land Divided" and "The World United." States used these medals, usually sold for a dollar, to pay toward their displays, and some of the plated pieces were finished officially while others were plated privately. HK-413a measures 38 mm; the bronze version is HK-413.
