Description
A headless figure of Victory stands in a vessel passing through the Panama Canal on the obverse of HK-404, with "San Francisco" and "1915" set behind her on either side and "Panama-Pacific International Exposition" around. The reverse is a modified Florida state seal, encircled above by "For Florida Exposition Fund" and below by a ribbon reading "In God We Trust"; tiny letters at the lower edge read "Robbins Co Attleboro," the Massachusetts firm that struck it. Florida sold the medal ahead of the exposition to raise money for its exhibit, as several states did with medals of their own. HK-404 is bronze, 38 mm, and the silver-plated bronze HK-404a has the same design.
