Description
A woman strides to the left before a rising sun on the obverse of HK-405, carrying a cornucopia that spills over, with long sunrays, buildings and fields behind her and "For Georgia Exposition Fund" around the top inside a beaded border. The reverse sets the Georgia state seal in a circle within the legend "Panama Pacific International Exposition San Francisco 1915," signed at the bottom edge in microscopic letters by Whitehead-Hoag of Newark. Georgia sold it to help pay for its exhibit at the fair, which was laid out in a natural amphitheater facing the Golden Gate, in what is now the Marina district: 635 acres stretching two and a half miles along the bay. HK-405 is bronze, 38 mm; HK-405a is silver-plated bronze.
