1914 Doubled Die Obverse DDO-001
Error
Description
The 1914 Doubled Die Obverse DDO-001 is a doubled die obverse (DDO) variety, where a misalignment during the die hubbing process created visible doubling on the obverse design elements. This variety was discovered on the 1914 Buffalo Nickel, part of the Buffalo Nickels 1913-1938 series. Die markers: UVC-236 DMR-003 Stage A: EDS (unconfirmed) Stage B: Die clash under chin – EMDS Reverse is EMDS Stage C: LDS (unconfirmed). Others have identified this variety as a 14/3, Die #11. I am not yet ready to call it an overdate, but it is definitely a DDO.
