Description

Exhibiting medium spread and extra thickness on UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and FIVE CENTS, this 1913 Buffalo Nickel doubled die reverse represents the Type 2 variety with the bison on flat ground (RDV-002), the design modification introduced partway through 1913 after the original raised-mound reverse proved susceptible to excessive wear.
