1906 (D) Barber Dime - Repunched Date WRPD-002

Description

1906-D WRPD-002 is a repunched date on the 1906-D Barber dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as 1906/906, with doubling above the bottoms of the 9, 0 and 6. The obverse is also a misplaced date, listed by Wexler as 1906-D WMPD-002: the top of a 0 shows in the denticles left of the 0. Wexler notes no other obverse markers visible on the circulated coin examined. On the reverse, an east-west die scratch joins the upper left wheat grains; the upper right corn husk has a NE/SW scratch in its curl; and a short NW/SE scratch touches the top of the bow's knot. Roger W. Beckner submitted the variety, with additional photos taken from Jason Mondy's coin. Flynn lists it as RPD-002.
