1906 (D) Barber Dime - Repunched Date WRPD-001

Description

1906-D WRPD-001 is a repunched date on the 1906-D Barber dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as 1906/1906/9. The 1 shows light doubling above its top and above its base. The 9 is tripled, with the extra impressions above its center and above its bottom. Above the bottom of the 0 there is close doubling, and inside the lower 0 may be the top of another 0. The 6 shows light doubling above its center and above its bottom. The obverse is also a misplaced date, listed by Wexler as 1906-D WMPD-001. In the denticles near the date are the top of a 1 just left of the 9, the tops of two 9s under the 9 and just right of it, the tops of three different 0s under the 0, and the top of a 6 between the 0 and the 6. Wexler notes no significant reverse markers. John A. Wexler submitted the variety. Flynn lists it as RPD-001.
