Description
1901-P VAM-17 Doubled Ear, Slanted Date, 2 Olive Reverse Discovered by C. Logan McKechnie April 2002. Revised September 2022 17 III2 10 • C4/C3h (Doubled Ear, Slanted Date, 2 Olive Reverse) ( ? ) Obverse III2 10 - Ear very slightly doubled at left inside and lower right inside. Date slanted with first 1 closest to rim. Reverse C4/C3h - Extra olive to right of olive connected to olive branch. Slight doubling on top of base of middle olive leaf cluster, back of arrow feathers, top of middle arrow feather and on right side of two innermost right wing feathers next to leg. Die develops atypical die erosion with outlines in field next to wreath, legend letters, olive leaves and edge of eagle's right wing. Die Marker - Horizontal scratch left of eagle's left foot.
