1899-O VAM-21 Thread-Like Impression Hair, Slanted Date, High O Discovered by Martin Field, January 1980. Thread-Like Impression revision by VAMfinder, January 2010 Revised December 2023 to add doubled 9 21(revised) III2 34 - C3e (Slanted Date, Doubled 9 High O) (181) Obverse III2 34 - Date in normal lateral position slanted upward. Second 9 doubled at bottom inside of upper loop. Faint, curved thread-like impression in hair above 99. DPIS - LH3/B45 Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: '''Comments: Andrew Wojtowich - All digits appear to be doubled at the top on my coin shown below. However, I have a second example of this VAM where the top of the date is NOT doubled. On both my coins, the second 9 strongly doubled at inside bottom of top loop.
