1889-CC VAM-5 Far Date, Dropped C Revised 2009 5 (revised) III2 4- C3d (Far Date, Dropped C) () Obverse III2 4- Date set further right than normal. Die 2- Die Markers - Fine diagonal die scratch from right wheat leaf to left cotton leaf. Two short polishing lines at top inside of ear. Reverse C3d- Right C of V CC mint mark set lower than left C. Die marker - Fine pitting in eagle's neck-wing gap. DPIS - Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: Far date with serif of first C slightly left of center and second C set slightly lower. Die Pair 5 is far and away the most common pair used.
