Description
1889-CC VAM-3 Far Date, CC tilted left Discovered by Leroy Van Allen, February 1977. Reverse discovered by Charles Wallace, June 1966. Revised 2009. 3 (revised) III2 3 - C3c (Far Date, CC tilted left) Obverse III2 3 - Date set further right than normal. Die marker - diagonal polishing line thru vertical bar and right top of T and several diagonal lines through Y of LIBERTY. Reverse C3c - V CC mint mark tilted slightly to left. Die marker - High single horizontal polishing line in neck-wing gap. DPIS - Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: Serif of first C positioned just outside left edge of bow knot. Second C set high and close to ribbon.
