1884-S VAM-9 884 in Denticles, Far Date Discovered by Bill Van Note, November 1998. 9 III25 · C3a (884 in Denticles, Far Date) ( ? ) Obverse III25– Tops of 884 showing in denticles as raised curved bar in adjacent denticle spaces below first 8, raised curved bar in denticle space below second 8 and raised vertical bar in denticle space below 4. Date set further right than normal. '''DPIS - Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: '''Comments: From a Heritage Photo it's virtually impossible to read the 884 in denticles. So you need some other puppies and the most prominent on the Obverse is the "hard" gouge coming from the right cotton boll to the cotton leaf. Just a short SPIKE off the right cotton bowl on the right side in the husk area. On the Reverse would be the die crack between TAT in STATES.
