1883-CC VAM-8 Doubled Date, CC Set Right Discovered by Marc Serafine, October 1999. 8 III24 · C3e (Doubled Date, CC Set Right) ( ? ) Obverse III2 4- Obverse shows all date digits doubled. Additionally there is a short dash line under the second 8 in the date. Reverse C3e– Large V CC set to right with metal within left C and short arc of metal at top right inside of right C. DPIS - Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: Obverse also used for 1883-CC VAM-4. The quick & dirty difference to tell the reverses apart is the position of the 2nd C in the mintmark. 1883-CC VAM-4 is higher than the 1st, 1883-CC VAM-8 is lower. 1883-CC VAM-8 can also be IDd by a curved die scratch downward from the e of we.
