Description
1880-CC VAM-3 Dash Under 8 Discovered by Walter Breen, October 1964. Revised 2009. 3(revised) III2 2 · C3b (Dash Under 8) ( ? ) Obverse III2 2 – First 8 is doubled at top inside of lower loop and upper loop has polishing lines. A high set dash appears just below second 8 with upper loop doubled on left outside. 0 is doubled at top left and right outside. First stars on left and right have die chips. Diagonal polishing lines below 18. Late die states have had polishing lines removed. Reverse C3b – Normal die of C3 type with centered large V CC mint mark. There are die chips at top inside of loop of each C of mint mark plus raised dots from rusted die within each C mint mark, at top left of O in DOLLAR and below wreath bow.
